CULTURALITY Conference 2027 Announcement
CULTURALITY & Tourism: Designing Sustainable Paths
CULTURALITY European Horizon project and INVTUR 2027 are jointly organizing a collaborative academic and professional international conference.
Scheduled to take place from April 20 to 22, 2027, at Universidade de Aveiro in Portugal, CULTURALITY & Tourism: Designing Sustainable Paths expands the discussion to bring together researchers, alumni, students, decision-makers and other stakeholders to explore how tourism, through perspectives grounded in design, heritage studies, arts, sustainability, circular economy, regeneration, and creative practices can adapt to ongoing global transformations, climate challenges, and shifting mobility patterns.
The conference addresses tourism as part of a wider cultural, social, and territorial ecosystem shaped by memory, identity, participation, creativity, and knowledge. Discussions will focus on how traditional crafts, oral traditions, gastronomy, music, vernacular knowledge, storytelling and cultural landscapes contribute to resilient and inclusive models of sustainable territorial development. The conference will also critically handle the tensions between preservation and transformation, local identity, and global tourism dynamics.
