Between September 14th and 18th, 2026, CULTURALITY Project partners held a consortium meeting across the Lofoten and Vesterålen regions of Norway. Hosted by partner institution Museum Nord, the five-day gathering combined administrative governance, work package reporting, and on-site investigations of regional cultural tourism and artisanal heritage.

On September 15th, the consortium examined Lofoten as a cultural tourism destination through regional craft economies. Partners visited local producers, including Lofoten Wool, Vikten Glass, stockfish producer Sufi in Sund, and Lofoten Seaweed in Napp. The day concluded at Lofotr Vikingmuseum with a guided site visit, craft demonstrations, an analysis of the new exhibition, and an interpretive Viking feast.

Formal reporting sessions took place on September 16th, at Nyvågar Rorbuhotell and the adjacent Museum SKREI in Storvåganveien, Kabelvåg. The agenda covered scheduled presentations and discussions across Work Packages 1 through 8, a site visit and progress review for the Lofoten Living Labs, and the project’s General Assembly and Steering Committee meetings. The working day concluded with a curated walkthrough of the new Museum SKREI facilities.

The programme moved to Vesterålen on September 17th, focusing on cultural transmission and regional tourism development. At Melbo hovedgård, partners met with local craft association Husflidslaget to review historical textile collections, followed by an introduction to Sámi Duodji craft traditions led by artisan Máret Rávdná Buljo and a discussion on inter-generational knowledge transfer. After a culinary craft presentation by host Preben Moen from Hotel Richard With at Neumanns (Neptun sildoljefabrikk) and a musical harpsichord performance by Nikolai Endresen Dahl, the delegation traveled to Stokmarknes to visit the Hurtigruten Museum. The afternoon finished with a Work Package 6 session led by Politecnico di Torino researcher Elena and an internal workshop on place-based tourism dynamics facilitated by consortium partner Egga.
