Glass Future Lab, a research initiative by the AUT Design Collective, Elia Camboni and Pietro Coda launched in 2022, seeks to redefine the concepts of unique and “tailor-made” in Murano glass production. This project fosters an open dialogue between the traditional craftsmanship of master glassmakers and the versatility of digital production.
By merging these two distinct production methods, the project addresses needs considered indispensable today, such as reducing production waste, enhancing compositional freedom, simplifying assembly processes, and customizing final products.
Ultimately, Glass Future Lab aims to reintegrate Murano glass production into the contemporary design landscape, ensuring its relevance and innovation for the future.
