‘Love for craftsmanship, honest designs and a modern and integrating look at new technologies in the ceramic process’ are the main commitments of the Woodic project, created by the Asturian designer Natalia Suarez. Her commitment is centred on generating new ways of interrelating with raw materials and achieving handcrafted objects for the contemporary world. To this end, she combines craftsmanship with the use of technological means in her ideation and development process, thus generating new forms of manufacture. The EDRA collection is born from the design of a series of geometric prototypes that start from the same digital form taken to different finishes in width, height and depth. In this way, objects with shapes that are very difficult to achieve manually are obtained, which also present on their surfaces the traces of the machine as a visible texture, which in some pieces is combined with traditional aesthetics.
