
Region Värmland
Region Värmland is one of Sweden’s 21 regions and as an organization holds responsibility for all the county of Värmland’s publicly funded regional development, health care, culture, public education, and public transport. Region Värmland works to contribute to Värmland’s development and attractiveness. About 250 000 people live in Värmland.
The cultural department of Region Värmland employs culture developers. Areas of culture within the department include handicrafts, art, libraries, literature, film, and dance. The regional role involves working strategically and coordinating. The department will initiate, support and lead development processes in collaboration with others to strengthen the respective arts and cultural fields. Main target groups are professionals, semi-professionals, NPO: s, children and youth, as well as practitioners working with young people. The work is primarily focused on the development of new working methods, skills and talent development, external analyses, and network meetings. Cooperation takes place with municipalities, civil society and organizations throughout Värmland as well as with other regions, government agencies, international partners and national actors in the cultural field.

Kajsa Stinnerbom
Handicraft consultant in Värmland since 2012 and has worked with craft since 2004. Develops the field of traditional handicraft techniques (primarily textile, wood, metal, and ceramics) with the focus towards professionals, semi-professionals, children and youth, as well cultural heritage, and sustainability. Has previously worked in a business oriented Interreg project in northern Sweden and Finland. Kajsa has also worked in the largest project in Sweden with focus on children’s access to craft – a cross-cultural project called Slöjdcirkus. She holds a master’s degree of cultural heritage from Linköping University.
Sara Olsson
Handicrafts consultant at Region Värmland since 2021. Develops the field of traditional handicraft techniques (primarily textile, wood, metal, and ceramics) with the focus towards professionals, semi-professionals, children and youth, as well cultural heritage, and sustainability. She has a vocational education in textile crafts, and a degree in fine arts of design from HDK – Valand, Gothenburg University, from which she has experience working with 3D-objects and storytelling.
Stefan Barkman
Film consultant with the main focus of children and youth’s access to film and filmmaking, at Region Värmland. Stefan also takes a great interest in film as cultural expression of storytelling and how the future of film is affected by digital development. Between 2018-2022 Stefan worked in Interreg North Sea Region project CUPIDO which combined digital innovation with cultural heritage to strength local business.
Oda Larsson
Unit manager at the Culture Department at Region Värmland since 2017 and responsible for the following areas: visual art, handicrafts, regional library, literature and reading. She has worked with development and quality improvement in the cultural area at municipal and regional level in various roles since 2006 and has earlier participated in several international projects in European Regional Development Fund and European Social Fund. In addition, Oda is responsible for the support to professional cultural developers at the Culture Department.
Sofia Wretling
Unit manager at the Culture Department at Region Värmland and responsible for the following areas: film, dance, youth culture and development in relation to organizers and venues. She has extensive experience in cultural development, and has worked both within the theatre scene, as self-employed and as a project manager in regional operations.
Lisa Åbjörn
Project economist for Region Värmland. She has several years of experience in the profession of economics and has previous experience of working within an Interreg Europe project.
