Uriaxait S. L.
o Uriaxait S. L. is a young technology company dedicated to the application of artificial intelligence techniques for the development of products and services in the fields of cultural heritage, tourism and sports. The company specializes in the use of natural language processing techniques and sentiment analysis in heritage, tourism and women’s sport. Application cases in heritage include Spanish industrial heritage, Cantabrian rock art and the introduction of immaterial heritage in the design of tourist routes. In sports, the company is developing different products and services focused on the welfare of sportswomen, the prevention of harassment situations and the detection of gender bias. The motto of the company’s founders is that “more is different” using the expression introduced in the scientific literature by the Nobel Prize in Physics Philip Anderson in a now famous paper on the physics of complexity. This slogan reflects the company’s commitment to multidisciplinary work and refers to the fact that some of the characteristics of complex systems cannot be understood with reductionist methodologies. A fact that has much to do with the need to use artificial intelligence to develop innovative products and services. At the present the Uriaxait office is currently located in Cristasa, a former factory in the city of Gijón (Asturias) that has been transformed into a municipal business residence.
